Quick answer: Dendera and Abydos Private Day Tour from Luxor lasts 12 hours in Dendera and Abydos, from $140.00 per person, with a licensed guide and hotel pick-up.
Overview
Leave the crowds of Luxor behind and drive north to two temples that show another side of ancient Egypt. Your private Egyptologist guide and air-conditioned car make the long day comfortable.
At Dendera you visit the temple of Hathor, goddess of love, joy and beauty, with its massive stone roof, underground passages and a rare relief of Cleopatra and her son. At Abydos you visit the temple begun by Seti I and finished by Ramesses II, a centre of the cult of Osiris whose wall paintings are among the best preserved in Egypt.
The drive itself is part of the pleasure, passing villages, fields and views of the Nile. Hotel transfers, entrance fees, service charges and taxes are included. Lunch is not part of the price.
The tour suits all ages. The price per person depends on group size and children pay less: see Prices by group size below.
