Quick answer: Kom Ombo and Edfu Temples Private Tour from Aswan lasts 8 hours in Kom Ombo and Edfu, from $160.00 per person, with a licensed guide and hotel pick-up.
Overview
Two of the finest Ptolemaic temples on the Nile, seen at your own pace with a private Egyptologist instead of from a cruise-ship timetable.
Kom Ombo, about 40 km north of Aswan, is unusual for its perfectly symmetrical design, shared between the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Haroeris. Look for the carved calendar and the famous relief of medical instruments, then see some 300 mummified crocodiles in the small museum beside it.
Another two hours north brings you to Edfu and the Temple of Horus, built between 237 and 57 BC and the most complete temple surviving from ancient Egypt.
After the visit you return to Aswan, or continue to your Luxor hotel at no extra cost. Lunch, entrance fees and water are included.
The price per person depends on how many travellers share the car and guide, and children get reduced rates: see Prices by group size below.
